Irish corporate tourism sector ready to touch €1.1 billion in next decade

On Thursday it has been announced that more than 100 buyers from the US, Canada, UK and the European markets comprising business tourism experts and international event organizers will attend a conglomeration on the RDS between 17th and 18th October for Connect17.

Connect17 represents the business tourism scenario of Ireland that witnesses the meetings and events industry converging under a single roof.

Within 2028, Ireland grows more charming on the global events-hosting stage. And as this happens, the corporate tourism industry might be worth as much as €1.1 billion and employ as much as more than 8,000 people. Connect17 event would flaunt the event-hosting opportunities and hospitality brands to global and Irish business decision-makers.

More than 200 suppliers comprising event organizers, visitor attractions, venues and creative production companies would be present at this event.

The cities, towns and countries of Ireland is going to have representatives at the regional exhibition stands.

Speakers at the event would include the award-winning Abigail Disney, CEO and President of Fork Films and great-niece Gina London and Walt Disney , Strategic Advisor at Fuzion Communications and former anchor of one of the leading news media agencies.

Fresh figures indicate that the niche of corporate tourism employing 21,000 people in Ireland was worth €715 million to the economy in 2016 up 7% on the previous year.

Important conferences and industry events had lured upwards of about 1.3 million international delegates. Each of the delegates had stayed an average of 5 days and spent €1,600, up one hundred euro on 2015 and two hundred in the year 2014.
